What a week! Congrats! I’m amped for you. It’s good to know these kind of mega-weeks can happen after a long time working so hard. Inspiring.

How exciting! SO much to (rightfully) celebrate!! :) CONGRATS! (Funny side note, I was at Milkwood either a week or two before you--what an amazing place!!)

Milkwood is the BEST! I’m not even sure I was even able to rightfully process my time there. I loved every second! Were you part of the residency or did you do a workshop/retreat?

The picture book writing retreat with Susan Rich and Annie Barrows (and Sophie, too)! *swoon* I'm totally with you--I tried to process my experience but just ended up babbling rhapsodically--and perhaps annoyingly. https://elaynecrain.substack.com/p/the-indelible-nourishment-of-milkwood if you want to see how ridiculously long the post is (though I partially blame the photos). 😂 A residency, though! That would be ah-may-zing!

Oh, how dreamy that sounds too though! Can't wait to read your post. I could have easily made mine longer too. 🤣 Aren't Sophie and Ed just the nicest people you've ever met?

They really are! They say "don't meet your heroes"...but I guess it depends on who your heroes are! Because the ones I met there were delights.

Congratulations on all these achievements and accomplishments! I have been following your newsletter for some time now and it makes me incredibly happy that someone I look up to is showered with all the good things in life! I’m looking forward to your graphic novel project!!! If it’s not too much trouble can you give some examples of early-reader graphic novels? I don’t believe I’ve come across any before 🤔

That’s so nice, thank you!! Some examples of early reader graphic novels are the Narwhal and Jelly series, my book The Flower Garden, Owly, Fox and Rabbit, Babymouse, Dog Man...there are a lot!
